I've been gathering parts for a few months now. The engine is finally comeing out of the white car for a refresh

If anyone is wondering how long a stock turbo will last 104K miles it was leaking oil into the intake when I pulled the MAF tube off.

Would be easier If I didn't have this cold flu.

Do you have a cold or the flu Al?:nixweiss: If you plan on rebuilding the turbo yourself send me a PM and I'll send you a link. $80 and free balancing.:party43: You buy the parts from them and send some of the parts back to get it balanced and polished for free.

I sent it to precision on Monday. I actually have a TA-49 I bought from a local on the cheap that's going on the car.

But send me the link anyway I may attempt the stocker.

TA-49 + 206/210 Roller + Razor's Alky with an ISAC controller should motivate the beast

PM on it's way to you Al. We've got to teach you how to take and reduce the size of your pics though. That last one took for ever to load.

I'm on dial right now Bryan, so it makes it even worse for me. Several of us are setting up a network so we can go wireless and we're waiting of the parts to do it. Maybe in a couple of weeks I can get some speed so I don't have to wait as long but right now I'm at a crawl.

Probably me. I just linked in from our local forum

And as of about an hour ago all I have to do is undo the 4 bolts to the tranny and the motor mounts and out it comes

Here's a little tip for you if you put the power steering pulley on backwards it's a PITA to get off

If you setup a wireless lock that sucker down. I have problems even out here with attempted accesses over my wireless router.

It's set to No broadcast. WEP with a big long passphrase for a key

So I guess I'm going on the record as the longest rebuild ever. Heres a tip when the machinist has back surgery and the builder is remodeling a house it's going to take a while. But it has given me the chance to do things just the way I want them.

Bypassed the stock Trans cooler and added a B&M Plate cooler and AN lines run through the frame (no removing the crossover to take engine out)

And put inserts in all of the IC mounts so they won't strip out again

Do not feel bad Al, I tore down the 87 in the winter of 2005 and just got it back together last week.

Everything looks good. Hopefully you will have it out on the street soon.
